क्या आप ऐसे लोगों की सहायता नहीं करना चाहेंगे, जो योग्य हैं, लेकिन उनके पास धन की कमी है, सुविधाओं का अभाव है, जिनके पास कोई सपोर्ट नहीं है?
हम बात कर रहे हैं, दिव्यांगजनों की। हमारे देश की जनसंख्या में एक बहुत बड़ा तबका दिव्यांगजनों का भी है, जो आज भी हाशिये पर है।
ऐसा नहीं है कि सरकार कुछ कर नहीं रही है, लेकिन सरकार की भी कुछ सीमाएं हैं और हर एक दिव्यांग तक सरकारी पहुँच नहीं हो पाती। सरकार के अथक प्रयासों के बाद भी बहुत-से दिव्यांगजन ऐसे हैं, जो शिक्षा से वंचित है, समाज से बहुत पीछे है।
सरकार अपना कार्य कर रही है और हम कुछ लोग एन.जी.ओ. के माध्यम से अपना। हम देश के पिछड़े दिव्यांग भाई-बहनों के लिये शिक्षा, रोजगार और विवाह सहित बहुत-से ऐसे अत्यन्त ज़रूरी कार्यों को अंजाम दे रहे हैं, जिन से देश के विभिन्न ज़रूरतमंद दिव्यांगजनों को लाभ प्रदान किया जा सके। हमारे ये दिव्यांग भाई-बहन बहुआयामी प्रतिभा के धनी हैं, परंतु इन्हें उचित अवसर नहीं मिल पाते अथवा कई बार भेदभाव के कारण भी आगे नहीं बढ़ पाते। हम ऐसे बहुत-से दिव्यांग भाई-बहनों से परिचित हैं, जो अपने अंदर इतनी अधिक प्रतिभाएं लिये चलते हैं कि उनके आगे सामान्य व्यक्ति शून्य प्रतीत होते हैं। जैसे– ये लोग बेहतरीन अभिनय कर लेते हैं, किंतु इनकी जगह एक सामान्य व्यक्ति को ही वरीयता दी जाती है, ये कुशल संचालन कर सकते हैं, किंतु इन्हें अवसर नहीं दिया जाता, ये निजी कंपनियों में बेहतरीन ढंग से कार्य कर अच्छा वेतन पा सकते हैं, किंतु इन्हें सामान्य व्यक्ति से कमतर आँका जाता है, इसी तरह और भी कई ऐसे कार्य-क्षेत्र हैं, जहाँ इन्हें दिव्यांग होने की वजह से आगे बढ़ने का अवसर नहीं मिल पाता अथवा अवसर दिया ही नहीं जाता।
हमारा आप सब से निवेदन है कि दिव्यांगजनों को पहुँचाए जाने वाले लाभ में आप भी हमारा पूर्ण सहयोग करें। हम यह नहीं कहते कि आप हमें हर माह दस हजार रुपये दीजिये, अपितु हम आप से आप की आमदनी का एक छोटा-सा अंश मांग रहे हैं। यदि आप नौकरी-पेशा हैं, तो आप हमें हर माह दो-तीन हजार रुपये की राशि दे कर इनका सहयोग कर सकते हैं और यदि आप रुपये नहीं भी देना चाहते तो राशन सहित अन्य ज़रूरत की वस्तुओं की सेवाएं भी दे सकते हैं। जैसे सीखने के लिये कम्प्यूटर, वाद्य यन्त्र, आधुनिक समय में प्रयोग करने योग्य मशीनें तथा प्रयोग में लाए जाने वाले अन्य सामान, जैसे,– कुर्सी-टेबल, बेड, अलमारी, कपड़े आदि। यदि आप उपरोक्त में से किसी तरह से सहयोग करने में सक्षम नहीं हैं तो आप इनके लिये रीडर अथवा वॉलेंटियर के रूप में भी सहयोग कर सकते हैं।
याद रखें, इन्हें सहानुभूति नहीं सहयोग चाहिये। आप का सहयोग किसी का जीवन सँवार सकता है।

Wouldn’t you like to help those who are capable but lack money, facilities and support?
We are talking about the disabled. A very large section of the population of our country is also of the disabled, who are still on the margins.
It is not that the government is not doing anything, but the government also has some limitations and it is not able to reach every disabled person. Even after the tireless efforts of the government, there are many disabled people who are deprived of education and are far behind the society.
The government is doing its work and we some people are doing ours through NGOs. We are carrying out many such very important works including education, employment and marriage for the backward disabled brothers and sisters of the country, so that various needy disabled people of the country can be benefited. These disabled brothers and sisters of ours are rich in multi-faceted talent, but they do not get proper opportunities or many times they are not able to move forward due to discrimination. We are acquainted with many such disabled brothers and sisters who have so many talents that normal people seem nothing in front of them. For example– these people can act very well, but a normal person is given preference over them, they can manage things efficiently, but they are not given opportunities, they can work very well in private companies and get a good salary, but they are considered inferior to a normal person, similarly there are many other such fields of work where they do not get the opportunity to progress due to being disabled or they are not given the opportunity at all.
We request all of you to cooperate with us fully in the benefits being provided to the disabled people. We do not say that you should give us ten thousand rupees every month, but we are asking for a small part of your income from you. If you are employed, then you can support them by giving us an amount of two-three thousand rupees every month and if you do not want to give money, then you can also provide services of ration and other essential goods. Such as computers for learning, musical instruments, machines used in modern times and other items used, such as chairs-tables, beds, cupboards, clothes etc. If you are not able to help in any of the above ways, then you can also help them as a reader or volunteer.
Remember, they do not need sympathy, but cooperation. Your cooperation can make someone’s life better.
